Desk Top Study

 

The initial phase in system planning, Global Marine Systems understands that a Desk Top Study (DTS) is a cable system risk assessment on which critical decisions concerning cost and security are based.

The DTS determines the feasibility of a new cable route, and provides route(s) with various options for marine survey while offering project specific recommendations for installation and survey. Cable protection recommendations are given and the report may also include a permitting section containing information on the permits and permissions needed for a new cable route.

The DTS also acts as a technical reference throughout the design life of a cable system, detailing influences and factors impacting on all subsequent activities from survey, through installation maintenance and recovery.
