Mark Nash

Captain Mark Nash first went to sea in 1977, working his cadetship with T&J Harrisons of Liverpool. After qualifying as a deck officer he worked for several years on Chinese container ships, world-wide out of Hong Kong.

Mark joined his first cableship, the Pacific Guardian, in Brisbane in 1988; since then he has worked on many deep and shallow water cable repairs, installations and route surveys. He was also Offshore Superintendant on Wave Mercury when she was sailing under the Japanese flag.

Mark lives in Victoria, on Vancouver Island, with his wife and two sons. He spends most of his spare time gardening and devising ways of keeping the local deer from ravaging the rhoddos, with varying degrees of success.
