Our Customer: Saipem Completion Date: 2005 The Project: Global Marine Systems was sub contracted by Saipem to install a 5.2 km length of integrated power/telecom cable from the beach to a Tanker Loading Unit, providing a robust dedicated power supply in a hostile offshore environment in the Sea of Okhotsk, offshore Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East. The Challenges:
Cable Networker - purpose-built cable-working barge, one of the largest of its kind Rocksaw Trencher - rock trenching tool for wide range of bedrock types Injector Trenching System - deep burial installation jetting system Networker was supported by two anchor-handling tugs and a support barge to transport Rocksaw and Injector spares. |
