Captain David Jeffrey first went to sea aged 16 and has a wealth of power cable installation and oil and gas project experience. He began his career at sea as a Cadet with The Bank Line Ltd before moving to work for The United Baltic Corporation.
He then spent seven years with Crescent Shipping where, for four years, he commanded a cable ship installing power cables in the Scottish archipelago.
David joined Global Marine in 1990 and project highlights include:
- Brunei-Singapore-Brunei-Malaysia-Philippines
- Tat 11
- Americas 1
- Latvia-Sweden
- TVH, the Gulf Terra VK 817 and
- The salvage of Ensco 64 - a capsized oil platform.
Recently, David commanded the Wave Mercury for Global Marine's first seismic cable repair project and performed on a Jamstec (Japan Agency for Marine Earth Science and Technology) Tsunami Monitoring Cable.
His interests include reading, foreign languages, painting, cycling and camping.
