JADE: Jointing Automated Documentation Environment

 

JADE is a revolutionary technology, endorsed by the Universal Joint Consortium (UJC), which enhances the 'Universal Joint' (UJ) by automating the production of bespoke, mainly pictorial, jointing manuals for the UJ and UQJ (Universal Quick Joint) qualified cables and provides enhanced traceability and reporting for the customer.

JADE is also a Windows-compatible software package designed especially for the submarine cable repair industry for joint construction and reporting. It contains the jointing construction manual in a mainly pictorial form and records all jointing and testing times and produces a comprehensive Completion Report.

JADE records the progress of each joint through each of the sub-operations, capturing more accurate and consistent information than what is generally possible to do on a manual basis. The use of JADE drives jointing consistency across all jointing teams and, in a world of more reliable systems and less frequent need for jointing repair, JADE's presentation of jointing information and recording of key assembly stage improves the efficiency of the repair operation.
