Navigator™

 

Navigator™, developed by Global Marine Systems is proven reliable software utilised by our fleet and other chartered vessels. Typical project applications are, Offshore Wind Farm power cable installation and surveys, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) Surveys for cable burial and salvage and Multiple Vessel Tracking and Anchor Handling, Navigator can track up to eight vessels and also offers enhanced cable management functionality.

WHAT THE PRODUCT OFFERS

Navigator™ offers various features as listed below, but is also Windows integrated which allows full or restricted access from workstations or servers.

  • Unique to this product:
         -  All calculations are carried out in Latitude and Longitude.
         -  Built in ‘Serial over LAN’ facility for data in/out.
         -  HTML viewing for live web presentation on PC, or compatible PDA.
  • Multiple vessel tracking, with multiple USBL system inputs.
  • Range of chart background formats.
  • On-site NMEA serial formatting and interfacing.
  • Dual PC logging and SQL database logging

Unique to this product, real time calculation of cable catenary with an inclinometer input allows recording of true top tension and bottom tension based upon cable characteristics, as per the graph below.

Web Page Service

The product offers a ‘built in’ webpage service which hold useful concepts for vessels and clients such as:

  • Navigator™ can be 'viewed only' using an internet browser anywhere on the ships LAN or wireless LAN.
  • Project Managers or clients can monitor the progress of an operation from their own desktop.
  • Vessel tracking configuration can be viewed on the webpage.
  • Webpage content can be customised to meet customer requirements.
  • Navigator™ data can be viewed on a suitable wireless configured PDA.

Licensing

  • Navigator™ is sold on a 'Per Server' basis, we recommend, two operational servers per vessel where dual logging and 100% system redundancy are required.
  • There are no Global Marine System restrictions or further costs for the number of workstations accessing the Navigator™ servers.
  • You only pay for the servers or the server software.
  • The price you pay includes Chart Background and Remote Vessel Tracking / Barge Management Add-ins.
  • Our servers are based on Windows Server 2003, and are sold as pre-installed systems with dual screen graphics cards and 8 Port Serial Digi-boards as standard.

Installation & Maintenance

  • A comprehensive evaluation of your requirements to ensure we can meet all your needs before we go any further.
  • A network / hardware evaluation service should you wish to install the Navigator™ system on your existing network.
  • In some circumstances, a trial period of Navigator™ alongside your existing survey navigation system can be offered.
  • 'On Site' assistance with software installation, data I/O configuration and logging configuration.

After Sale Service

  • An on-site/phone support is available.
  • Annual Maintenance Agreement.
  • Operator and system configuration training can be arrange with any our approved Surveyors.
  • Free software upgrades within the maintenance contract period.
