Cable Lay Planner
For submarine cables to be reliable they must be laid on the seabed with the correct amount of slack. Too little slack and the cable will be suspended between high points on the seabed, making it vulnerable to being snagged by fishing, or fatigue from strong currents. Too much slack in the cable and it can form loops, which if pulled tight, will result in damage to its optical fibres.
Cable Lay Planner is a sophisticated PC-based software package designed to apply standard cable laying methodology to the full range of cable installation configurations. Simple to use, it ensures the correct amount of slack is introduced during cable lay procedures. It also produces a precise method of laying cable along a particular route, saving planning time.
The Cable Lay Planner is a robust and adaptable programme that operates quickly and has also been developed to fit in with enhancements to digital reporting and to automatically feed information to shipboard cable slack control devices.
JADE
Our Jointing Automated Documentation Environment (JADE) was the first software of its kind to be developed for the submarine cable industry. Jointing is crucial to the whole maintenance operation and we treat it with utmost seriousness.
JADE greatly improves our ability to deliver the highest quality joints, completed quickly and reported accurately and consistently. It's cutting edge jointing technology; and allows us to monitor the speed at which each portion of a joint is completed and to target areas of jointing development, which makes a real difference to our customers because it
