Our state of the art Testing Facility in Chelmsford is acknowledged as a world leader in its field. It is used to qualify new submarine cable joint designs and other subsea equipment and maintains a policy of continual improvement, with accreditation by Lloyds Shipping, ISO and UKCAS.
Products and Services
We are able to offer a wide range of products and services designed specifically for individual customers. Below is a sample of the tests available:
- Tensile Testing ensures cables withstand the loads they experience in service
- High Voltage Testing provides an accelerated life test for cable joints and determines insulation breakdown for cables
- Pressure Testing simulates sea pressure to the max. depth of any sea/ocean
- Sheave Testing simulates shipboard deployment environment for the laying and recovery of cables, ropes, umbilicals and other cable types
- Optical & DC measurements & data logging on any test; the monitoring of optical loss during tensile and sheave testing is a unique facility
- Linear Cable Engine simulates shipboard handling of cable/joints/ repeaters deployed in water, paid out at a controlled rate and tension
